Bethany Alumni Honored
for lifetime of service
Nancy Chupp ('83), Dan Bodiker (Faculty 1964-2007), and B.J. Leichty (Board 2006-09) are among the 7 recipients of Goshen College alumni awards for their lifetime commitment to service.
Chupp serves as public interest lawyer in Seattle, Wash., with a focus on addressing religious-based employment discrimination and female prisoner civil rights.
Bodiker, who at one point considered becoming a pastor, sees working with youth in a church school as his mission field. He started Bethany's interscholastic athletic program in 1964 and following his retirement as athletic director in 2007 continues to teacher driver education and volunteer in many capacities. He is still affectionately know by alumni and students as Bod.
Leichty, a Bethany parent and former board member, is an associate pastor at Holdeman Mennonite Church. Her lifetime of service has also included serving at Frontier Boys Village in Colorado and Western Mennonite School in Oregon.
