Eighth-grader Sadie Gustafson-Zook placed first in the Indiana Geography Awareness Week grade 6-8 postcard contest "Mapping the Americas" sponsored by  Geography Educators Network of Indiana. She was also chosen for the grand prize from winners of all levels (elementary through high school). Students from all Indiana schools were eligible to participate.

This is the third consecutive year that a Bethany student has won: Maddie Gerig in 2008 and Jared Miller in 2007. In addition to Sadie winning a cash prize and various geography-related items, her entry will be printed and used this year by the Indiana Geographic Alliance. Four other Bethany students' entries were recognized for consideration and appear on the GENI website (and below): Maddie Gerig, Natalie Thorne, Min Kyoung Woo, and Jesse Bontreger.
