Spring Sports Clubs

Six options for middle school students will be available this spring. While Bethany does not have offical school teams in the spring, we want to encourage interested middle school students to enjoy sports during the spring. We will soon be having meetings to determine interest for these clubs.

Baseball. The Bruins baseball club will run again this spring. For more information, contact Mr. Lehman and or parent Steve Slagel. There is a cost associated with the club.

Golf. Will meet 4-6 p.m. each Wednesday. You will learn the basics of the golf swing and participate in 2-3 matches. You will need to provide your own clubs and balls. A few older sets at school may be available upon request.

Soccer. Students can sign up for Goshen Youth Soccer Organization, a recreation league held at Goshen College, or try out for the Goshen Stars Soccer Club. For more information contact Hank Willems (high school boys soccer coach), Dale Snyder (middle school boys soccer coach), or Dennis Yoder (high school girls soccer coach).

Tennis. Will meet after school on Monday and Wednesday until 4:00.  We will have 2 or 3 meets with other schools. High school tennis coaches Matt Miller and Sarah Yoder will supervise these practices. The cost is $15, which will include a T-shirt for matches--students will need to provide a racket and blue shorts for matches.

Track. Will meet on Tuesday and Thursday with  2 or 3 meets. There will be a meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 3:30 p.m. to meet Benji Hurst who will coach the team. You will find out additional details at this meeting.

Volleyball. We will be running Pawball Volleyball for boys and girls in grades 5-8 at 2:00-3:30 p.m. Saturdays beginning March 21 through May 16 (except for April 4 and 11 due to spring break). Cost will be $10. For more information or to register, see Pawball.
