National Merit Semifinalist
Bethany senior Taylor Ann Krahn has been selected by the National Merit Corporation as a scholarship semifinalist. She is one of six students from an Elkhart County school to receive this prestigious honor for the class of 2011 and the fourth Bethany student to achieve this distinction in the past three years (whereas the national average would be one student every four years)! Only 1% of students nationally receive this recognition.
Taylor is the daughter of Brian and Stacy (Haines '82) Krahn of Mishawaka. Homeschooled through grade 8, Taylor has flourished academically at Bethany and holds a 4.0 gpa. Her college plans are still in process, but her interests include English, music, and theater.
At Bethany Taylor Ann is a violinist and concertmistress in the orchestra and a member of the concert choir. She has played in four Bethany theater productions and is a cast member in this November's musical production of Frog and Toad. She is an active member in her youth group at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church and volunteers at Maple City Health Care Center and Interfaith Hospitality Network.
