Helping Prairie View

Mentor Kindergarteners, create rain garden

Amy Thut's Environmental Science class spent a class period sharing their knowledge of the wetlands with kindergarten students from Prairie View Elementary School. Kindergartners came to Bethany's wetlands to observe some of the animals found in the water and to take some tadpoles back to their classroom tank.

Bethany students also spent a day helping Prairie View create its own wetland area: a rain garden, for which their principal, Ray Helmuth ('80, F93-00), was named the state's Conservation educator of the year.
