Alfonso Valtierra Jr. ('62) was honored posthumously on May 7, 2010, with the naming of a Chicago, Ill, street in his memory.

Valtierra died Dec. 12, 2009. He was also a faculty member at Bethany 1967-70. He was principal at Galileo Scholastic Academy at the time of his death. See his online obituary.
