Choir Festival and Tour
April 11-14 Jubilate Singers will participate in the Mennonite Schools Council Choir Festival, hosted by Lake Center Christian School, Hartville, Ohio. Over 600 students will participate, representing 16 Mennonite schools from across the United States (both east and west coast), Canada, and Puerto Rico.
The guest conductor for the festival is Dr. Timothy Peter, a former student of the internationally renowned conductor and clinician Weston Noble. Dr. Peter is currently head of the music department at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa.
Choir festival performances will be at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at the Alliance (Ohio) High School auditorium. The mass choir will sing seven festival pieces in each concert with each participating school singing two pieces in one of the performances. Bethany will be performing its two pieces in the 7 p.m. worship service.
In addition to the festival performances, Bethany will participate in the 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Maple Grove Mennonite Church in Hartville. On Monday, April 14, Bethany's choir will stop in Cleveland, Ohio, to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and to sing at Trinity Cathedral, before returning to Goshen.
