Bethany Earns National Charter

Bethany Christian High School has been granted charter membership in the National Forensic League. Charter membership is the highest level of membership in the NFL and reflects sustained commitment to speech and debate education over several years.

“It is very unusual to receive this distinction after only two years, so this indeed is quite an honor,” says Bethany’s speech and debate coach Michael Yeakey, who earlier this year received the Distinguished Service Key from the National Forensic League—one of only 313 coaches out of tens of thousands since 1925 to earn this honor.

In just its second season, Bethany’s team took sixth place in Class A at the state speech tournament in March 2011.
