Geography Bee Winner

Seventh grader Jesse Amstutz, son of Neil and Janette Amstutz of Waterford Mennonite Church, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship. Students answered oral questions on geography in this first-round of the 22nd annual bee sponsored by the National Geographic Society. As Bethany's representative Jesse will take a written test with opportunity to advance to the state competition in Indianapolis on Apr. 9.

Aadarsh Patel was the runner up and Hanna Hochstetler was third. Others making the final round of the school-level bee were Nashon Lora, Logan Swartzentruber, Joel Miller, Bryan Nguyen, Syde Dille, Erin Bontreger, and Addison Dumford.
