shipment delayed; vaccination postponed

The Elkhart County Health Department has confirmed with all area schools that the shipments of the H1N1 vaccinations that were due to Elkhart County have not arrived as scheduled.  Because of this change, Bethany will not be hosting the ECHD on Friday, Oct. 23, for the free vaccinations to be administered.  At this time we do not know when the vaccine will arrive to the ECHD, and therefore do not know when we will have the vaccinations available for Bethany students.

However, We still do not have permission forms from all Bethany families indicating whether you want your child(ren) to receive the vaccine.  Please return that permission form as soon as possible so that we may administer the vaccine when it does arrive.

Information about the H1N1 vaccination and a parent consent form were mailed to parents on Oct. 6. Parents should read over the information, then fill out and return a consent form for each student, checking the box "I give consent" or the box "I do not give consent." Students may not get the free vaccination if their forms have not been returned to the office.
