Bethany Christian Schools
has a variety of extracurricular clubs for students to enjoy during their free
time.
Academic Superbowl
Teams of three to four students compete state-wide in six areas. English, science,
fine arts, social studies, mathematics and interdisciplinary. Bethany teams
won state championships 1997-2003 and placed in the top five 2004-2006.
Art
Club
The Art Club is a group of artists who enjoy working together
on collective projects. Their pieces can be seen in a variety
of locations about the school.
Chapel
Commitee
The Chapel
Commitee is responsible for planning Bethany chapel events.
Chapels occur three times weekly and bring a variety of speakers
and groups to present and worship with the student body. The
Chapel Comittee is composed of both students and faculty
Chess
Club
The Chess Club meets weekly to play and learn various aspects of good chess
play. The chess club is coached by Dan Shenk ('68).
International Cultures
Club
Membership includes participation in fun activities that help build cultural
bridges.
Peace
Society
The Peace Society is an organized avenue for students with
special interest in discussions about peace and activities
promoting peace. The club discusses non-violence at Bethany,
as well as providing an option for active participation in
service.
Student
Body Association
The Student Body Association is a form of student government
which plans
a variety of activities for the students. These events include
parties, fundraisers, as well as work and service days.
