Middle school students may participate in intramurals and extracurricular clubs such as chess.

Chess Club
The Chess Club meets weekly to play and learn various aspects of good chess play. The chess club is coached by Dan Shenk ('68).

Awards
In only its second year, the chess club brought home 12 trophies from the state chess finals in March 1999. The high school fielded two teams which finished fourth and tenth out of 34 teams. A grade 9 and under team finished fourth out of eight teams in its division.

Intramurals

Middle school intramurals include basketball and indoor soccer.
