Orchestra Festival
March 19-21 at Bethany
Bethany Christian High School is hosting the 19th annual Midwest Regional Mennonite Orchestra Festival, March 19-21, which will conclude with a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Goshen College’s Sauder Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
The festival includes over 100 musicians from three schools: Bethany, Central Christian School in Kidron, Ohio, and Iowa Mennonite School in Kalona, Iowa. Brian Wiebe, director of the Goshen College Music Center will conduct the combined festival orchestra.
In addition to the combined festival orchestra, the program will include performances by each school’s orchestra, a festival concert band conducted by Gregg Thaller, associate professor of music at Goshen College, and a festival jazz band conducted by Sonny Carreño, former conductor of Goshen College’s big band, Lavendar Jazz.
