Class of 2007 Tops in Area, Exceeds State/National Averages

Bethany's average SAT scores once again highly exceeded state and national averages as well as those of area schools. While the school is still awaiting verification of official averages from the collegeboard that administers the test, preliminary averages show Bethany's class of 2007 with a 572 in critical reading, 595 in math, and 557 in writing for a combined total of 1724 (see chart below for comparisons).

"What really makes these scores impressive," says guidance counselor Jim Buller, "is the high percentage of our students who take the SAT each year. These averages reflect a wide spectrum of learning abilities: from the academically gifted to the academically challenged."
