Spelling Bee

Sixth grader Kyle Snyder placed 7th in the Elkhart County Spelling Bee for grades 5-8 on Mon. Jan. 25. Kyle qualified by earlier winning the school level bee.

Kyle is the son of Dale and Anita Snyder of Goshen. They attend Berkey Avenue Mennonite Church.

Geography Bee Winner

Seventh grader Jesse Amstutz, son of Neil and Janette Amstutz of Waterford Mennonite Church, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship. Students answered oral questions on geography in this first-round of the 22nd annual bee sponsored by the National Geographic Society. As Bethany's representative Jesse will take a written test with opportunity to advance to the state competition in Indianapolis on Apr. 9.

Pastors Day

Pastors of Bethany students are invited to Bethany to shadow their student(s) for the morning of Feb. 9. For more information, contact Scott Richer at the school (574 534-2567) or saricher@bethanycs.net.
