Tuition & Indiana Choice

Invest in your children’s future

What will your tuition cost?

Each family is different, with unique financial and household circumstances. At  Bethany, your tuition is unique as well-- we factor in all the variables you provide in a tuition assistance application and use a third party to calculate your tuition cost.  Because each family is unique, we cannot quickly tell you what your tuition will be, but we can share some example scenarios from our sliding scale.

Are you wondering how to afford private school for your child? Give us a call at 574-534-2567 to learn more!

The primary factors that determine your household’s tuition on our sliding scale are:

  • Indiana Choice Award (must be an Indiana resident to qualify)
  • Number of children attending Bethany
  • Financial situation (assets, liabilities, income, and expenses)

Thousands of parents have found Bethany to be worth the investment. We expect that will be true for your family also!

What does variable tuition mean for your family? Families pay a wide range of tuition amounts out-of-pocket, depending on income, household size, and financial need. Each family’s contribution to tuition is adjusted to their unique financial situation.

Indiana Choice Scholarships

The State of Indiana is committed to providing all children access to quality educational opportunities. Indiana's Choice Scholarship Program gives all Indiana students the opportunity to attend the school of their choice. State funds move through a “voucher” to private schools, or follow a student who moves to a public school out of their district. Students must satisfy the student eligibility criteria to qualify for a full or partial scholarship. To see scholarship ranges and how that can impact tuition, visit our financial aid page.

CollegeChoice529 or Section 529 Plans

Did you know a CollegeChoice529 or Section 529 plan can be used for education costs at any grade level? These plans help families set aside tax-free savings specifically for qualified education expenses. Legislation signed into law in 2017 allows families to use 529 plans to pay for up to $10,000 in tuition expenses at elementary or secondary public, private, or parochial schools. The changes broadened the ways many families can plan and save for the cost of a private education. To learn more about financial planning with 529 plans, visit the Everence webpage.

Investigate available discounts and determine your priorities

Families with multiple children may qualify for multiple discounts! Discounts and financial assistance may also be available through your church or employer.

Education plays a big role in a child’s life, filling more than 30 hours of waking time per week and providing the majority of a child’s social connections. Consider, for example, whether the academic and extracurricular programs offered through a different school may eliminate or reduce the need for household expenditures on music lessons, art classes, club sports, hobbies, or educational trips. Families discover that sometimes it’s worth significant sacrifice to find a school that is a great fit for their particular needs.

At the end of the day, each family is different, with unique financial and household circumstances. At Bethany Christian Schools, your tuition is unique as well–we factor in all the variables of your household to calculate a tuition and financial aid package that can work for you. With over 75% of Bethany households receiving financial aid and/or Indiana Choice Scholarships, a private education is more affordable than you might think.
