Huntington University is where Bethany Christian soccer standout Stephen Pettifor has signed a letter of intent to begin his collegiate soccer career. Huntington men's soccer coach Russ Lawson says, "The coaching staff is thrilled that Stephen has decided to continue his playing career at Huntington. His vision and ability to win balls in the air are excellent. This will enable him to make a smooth transition to the physical play and speed of the collegiate game. Stephen is a center midfielder who has the versatility to play all midfield roles simply because he reads the game well and knows when to get forward with penetrating runs in the box."
As a senior captain at Bethany, Stephen scored 12 goals (5 game winners) and 2 assists in helping lead Bethany Christian to a Northern Indiana Soccer Conference title. That production earned him spots on the 1st team all NISC and the Indiana State District II team. Off the field, Stephen will pursue his goals of impacting youth by studying recreation and sports ministries at Huntington University.
