Bethany recognized two employees for outstanding service at its annual recognition luncheon: Elizabeth Franks-North for teaching excellence and Keenan Wenger for community contribution.

Elizabeth Franks-North, who is in her first year of teaching English at Bethany, was overwhelmingly nominated by parents and students based on seven criteria that include teaching excellence, community and church involvement, and expressing care for individual students. Many nominations noted that she is kind, enthusiastic and compassionate with one student saying, “she cares about my life and simply wants the best for me.” She instills a joy for learning with several students noting that Elizabeth helped move English from being their least favorite subject to one of their favorites.

Keenan Wenger completed his fourth year at Bethany. In addition to sharing his cheerful and pastoral self with students as he works in the cafeteria, he engages them in personal conversations in the hallways. He is often seen at students’ athletic and music events and volunteers as announcer at volleyball and basketball games. His leading fans in chanting “Let’s go Bruins” helped spur the volleyball team to a comeback win at regionals this year.
