BCS Signature Experiences

At Bethany Christian Schools, we have unique experiences that are woven into student life, shaping learning far beyond the classroom. From Outdoor Education and Interterm to Bruin Roots: Our Farm-to-School Program, students engage in hands-on, real-world learning that connects faith, community, and discovery. Traditions build belonging, creativity, and global perspective—creating memories and growth that last well beyond graduation.

Outdoor Education

Outdoor Education gives students hands-on learning outside the classroom. It’s designed around nature, environmental science, and immersive field experiences to deepen students’ connection with creation and inquiry.

Interterm

Interterm is a week-long immersive program during the school year where students leave their regular classes to focus intensively on one topic or experience. It’s a distinctive part of Bethany’s curriculum that emphasizes experiential and focused learning across disciplines.

Bruin Roots: Our Farm-to-School Program

Bruin Roots connects students with growing and eating food locally. It ties the cafeteria and garden work into student life, emphasizing healthy eating, sustainability, and hands-on agricultural learning.

Christmas Gala

Christmas Gala is our annual celebration is part of the school’s arts and community traditions. It features student-led performances, artwork, music, and fellowship around the holiday season, celebrating students’ creativity and community spirit.

Fine Arts Night

Fine Arts Night showcases students’ visual and performing arts talents. Students share artwork, music, theater, and other creative work with families and the Bethany community.

Fish Fry

Fish Fry is a community-building event that also supports class activities and fundraising (often hosted by a particular class like junior class). It’s a popular social night on campus that brings families, students, and staff together over food and fellowship.

Semester Abroad

As a semester abroad, Bethany students have the opportunity to study abroad through an exchange program. For example, students spend a semester at Colegio Alemán Concordia in Asunción, Paraguay, while Paraguayan students come to Bethany in return. This encourages growth in cultural understanding, language learning, and global connection.

Snow Club

Snow Club is a co-curricular winter activity where middle and high school students (grades 6–12) learn or improve skiing and snowboarding at Swiss Valley Ski Area. The club offers group lessons and outings during January and February and includes bus transportation for eligible students.
