Cheryl Mast has been named Bethany’s teacher-of-the-year for 2017-18.

Cheryl, who teaches 7th and 8th grade science and family and consumer science at Bethany, was nominated by parents and students based on seven criteria that include teaching excellence, community and church involvement, and expressing care for individual students. Many nominations noted Cheryls’s kindness and care for students with one person stating, “she is someone you can trust, gives good advice in life, and is always there when you need her.” She has rigorous academic expectations for students, yet makes class fun and understandable with her creativity. One student says, “Even though the subject of science is tedious, she teaches in a way that captures your attention and makes you want to learn. Everything is relevant and interesting.”
