PTO Kickoff went off with a SPLASH

Brand new middle school English teacher, Mr. Leaman, was baptized in the waters of the dunk tank to kick off his Bethany career. Students also lined up to get a chance at dunking Principal Willems, band teacher, Mr. Johnson, and senior Josiah Schlabach. A dollar bought 4 chances at hitting the target but many giddy students went for the five dollar guarantee and looked the lucky dunkee in the eye as they marched up and hit the target with a fist and sent their teachers and peers sprawling into the tank.

Even though Kickoff looked a bit different this year, many new and seasoned families alike came out to enjoy popsicles, ice cream and fellowship on a beautiful summer night.  Parents learned about getting involved in the PTO, Bethany spirit wear for sale, season sports passes, and the BART program.

“Kickoff was great,” said Heidi Sawatzky, PTO President. “It’s always wonderful to see new faces and old friends show up and be eager to get involved.”
