We said goodbye to a group of twelve students and three leaders from Colegio Alberto Schweitzer in Asunción, Paraguay who spent the entire week with us at Bethany as part of the exchange program both schools started in 2003. The group stayed with host families and had the opportunity to participate in cultural activities in the Goshen area. They also spent a day in regular HS classes where they had the opportunity to interact with our Bethany students and teachers. The Paraguayan students shared chapels in LS and HS, where they shared cultural information about Paraguay and performed songs and dances that are representative of their traditions. It was a rich experience of language and cultural exchange for all of us in the community.
