Bethany Theater is writing its own story

Bethany Christian high school students are performing the musical Matilda in just a few short days (February 29 through March 3). But it’s become clear that the story of Matilda isn’t the only one we have to tell.

There are 42 high school students involved in the musical this spring – a wonderfully robust number that accounts for about one third of our high school students. It’s also the second year Bethany has offered an after-school theater club opportunity for lower school students in grades 1-6. And something remarkable happened – 46 of our youngest Bruins are also a part of this Matilda experience! When you factor in the adults helping put on this production – directing, costumes, music, parent volunteers, etc – there are over 100 people in the Bethany community working together to bring this story to life.

Collaborations and experiences across grade levels are one of the hallmarks of a Bethany education. Our youngest students forming these relationships and learning skills from their older peers also help ensure the future of Bethany theater looks bright. That’s one of the best stories we’ll be telling this spring!
