We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Mady Kern as the new head coach for the girls volleyball team. With a robust background in both playing and coaching volleyball at elite levels, Mady brings a wealth of experience and a winning spirit to the position.
Gary Chupp, our athletic director, expressed his enthusiasm about Mady's appointment, stating, "We are very excited to welcome Mady to our coaching staff. Her exceptional volleyball background, coupled with her coaching experience at high-level NIVA teams, makes her an ideal fit for our program."
Mady shared her excitement about the opportunity, saying, "I am incredibly blessed with the opportunity to be named Head Coach of the Bethany Christian Volleyball Team. It has been a dream of mine since I was 10 when I started playing volleyball to become a head coach one day, and now I get to say my dream has come true."
With a stellar career at Bethel College, Mady amassed impressive statistics, including 3,020 assists, 1,151 kills, and 1,249 digs. Her achievements include winning two state championships and a NCCAA National Championship. Mady's dedication to excellence is further underscored by her numerous awards, including being named to the NCCAA and NAIA Academic All-Conference and Scholar-Athlete teams, as well as receiving the NAIA 2022 Champion of Character Award.
In addition to her illustrious playing career, Mady has honed her coaching skills over the past five years with the Northern Indiana Volleyball Association (NIVA). She also served as an assistant coach at Concord High School, further solidifying her commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of excellence both on and off the court.
"I cannot wait to start working with the team, make lasting memories, and have a positive impact on the players on and off the court," said Mady, expressing her eagerness to begin her journey with our volleyball team.
