This April, members of Bethany’s Concert Choir traveled to Central Christian School in Kidron, Ohio for the annual Mennonite Schools Network Choir Festival. The students sang in a choir of 250 voices under the direction of Dr. Kevin Fenton, a professor of conducting and choral director at Florida State University. Kidron Mennonite hosted Bethany’s students, graciously opening their church for worship and their homes for place to stay. After two intense and fun days of rehearsal the choir of students from nine schools from across the country presented a concert in front of a packed house. Students enjoyed their time singing together, making new friends and deepening their friendships within their choir.
This was a meaningful, memorable trip, and the choir is looking forward to next year’s festival at Rockway Mennonite in Kitchener, Ontario!
