Boys Soccer
Coach's Recap
The 2025 Boys Soccer Season offered a new challenge to a very experienced group of players. Because of the success of the past two seasons, we found ourselves competing in a higher class. We added a couple of quality 2A opponents to help us be prepared for a tougher sectional than we have had in the years past. Our team was up for the challenge and we were able to accomplish a lot of the goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of the season. We won a share of the conference title, but fell just short of a 2A sectional title (losing in 2OT in the sectional final). We finished the year 11-6-2, beating ranked teams in both 2A and 1A during the season. This group of 8 seniors won 52 games (16 were tournament games) over their four years and we will miss their skill and experience in the future years. Next year will offer new challenges, but the coaching staff is excited to see how this group grows and develops as we add quality 8th grade players.

Girls Soccer
Coach's Recap
The girls showed lots of growth, resilience and pride this season. We started the season with 12 players and no goalie, but had lots of experience with 10 seniors on the team. This meant that all the players played lots of meaningful minutes and all had an important role. Without a doubt they improved from last season, winning and tying more games, scoring more goals, and generally being more competitive in contests. Led by this strong senior group, the girls battled through injuries and soreness, tired legs, and tough match ups while maintaining positive attitudes and supporting each other. We ended the year 3-10-2 , led by leading scorers Kendra Kern (10) and Ellie Morris (7). We are so proud of how they represented what it means to be Bruin and all the hard work they put in.

Boys Tennis
Coach's Recap
The 2025 Boys Tennis season continued a strong trajectory of the program. For the 5th straight season the team posted a winning record, this year finishing at 12-6. Of the 6 losses, only one loss came to a team that was unranked. The strength of the team was a solid core of players with varsity experience (5 of the 7), including all three of our singles players. That put the Bruins in a great position to compete for every match. The Bruins captured 2 tournament titles, winning the Portage Invitational and the Wabash Invitational with dominant performances. We also competed against a conference opponent for the first time, as no other school in our conference had ever offered tennis before. In the match, we defeated Canterbury by a score of 5-0, so the team claims that we are the first conference champions :-) In Sectional we drew one of the 3 ranked teams in the draw, Bremen, and had a very exciting match that was decided after 3 hours of grueling play. In the end, we fell 3-2. We will definitely miss our two seniors, who both ended with individual records of 12-6 this year. Next year we will return 5 varsity contributors as well as a strong JV, who also ended the season with a winning record. So it was a season of great accomplishments and the future is also bright!

Volleyball
Coach's Recap
The 25-26 volleyball season was met with many challenges. There were a few injuries/concussions/sickness that led to many different line ups. The team fought hard and met the challenge of adversity. There was a lot of growth from the beginning of season to the end of season. These young ladies made the most of every situation. The team learned during the losses and celebrated the victories. The senior leadership will be missed, their example will be followed by those returning. The team will continue to build and grow together; we are excited for what next season will bring.

Middle school boys soccer
Middle School Boys soccer posted a strong season this fall. There were 33 boys playing, between the A team and B team, including eight 8th graders. The A team had one of its best records in history, ending the season with a 12-4-1 record. B team posted a 1-5-1 record, but had its strongest season ever, with a record number of goals scored, and a very strong defensive showing.
The A team won the LCA preseason tournament for the 5th year in a row. Additional season highlights included first ever program wins against Concord and West Noble, and defeating Goshen for the second season in a row. The A team outscored its opponents 63-24 over the course of the season with 19 different players recording either a goal or an assist during the season.
The A team ended the season with a loss in the second round of the HPC tournament on a last second overtime goal making it a bittersweet ending to an otherwise very strong season. With fifteen 7th graders playing soccer this year, we anticipate good momentum going into the 2026 season.
Middle school volleyball
The 2025 middle school girl's volleyball teams had fewer numbers this year, which meant the players got a lot of playing experience in practices and games. We focused on working on fundamental skills, playing together as a team and just having fun playing the game of volleyball. The teams faced some very challenging competition. Both teams showed a lot of improvement throughout the season, and the A team was rewarded with several wins including our first match in the HPC tournament at the end of the season.
