Bethany’s Fall Fish Fry Carries On the Tradition

The junior class of 2027 helped continue one of Bethany’s longest-standing traditions this November: the Fall Fish Fry. First held in the mid-1970s, the Fish Fry has become a hallmark of the Bethany experience—bringing our community together while giving each junior class the chance to learn, lead, and support one another. While the event raises funds for important senior-year activities, its deeper purpose remains the same: building relationships, practicing collaboration, and taking part in something larger than themselves.

2025 Fish Heads

This year, juniors Neer Goswami and Malachi Yoder served as fish heads and helped guide their class through a successful evening. Together, students served fish to nearly 1600 guests, with proceeds supporting prom, the senior trip, and the class’s senior gift to the school.

As many alumni will remember, the Fish Fry often brings a few surprises. Students navigated challenges—from almost running out of pie to a walkie-talkie mix-up and even an unexpected clean-up situation—and worked together to keep everything running smoothly. Sophomore and freshman volunteers were an essential part of the night, helping bread fish, serve guests, and stay late to clean up.

Bethany teachers and staff also pitched in, volunteering in the carry-out line, parking, and the gym banquet space. Many brought their families to enjoy a meal and support the students, adding to the warm, community atmosphere that makes the Fish Fry so special.

We are grateful to all who purchased tickets, volunteered, and showed up to support our juniors. We look forward to welcoming you back for the Spring Fish Fry on April 24.
