Competing in the 15-school Concord Debate Tournament, Bethany debaters and speakers earned honors on Saturday.
Senior Elena Unzicker was champion in varsity Lincoln Douglas debate, winning four debates against strong competition. In novice original performance, sophomore Savanna Helton nabbed second. Senior Eviella Sefu took fourth and junior Rachel Hirschler sixth, respectively, in their varsity Congressional debate chambers.
Pelton earned her first NFL degree, Merit, for her work on the day. Junior Preston Miller earned his second, Honor.
The team competes next at the Elkhart speech tournament this coming Saturday.
