Freshman Lydia Schmucker was champion in novice declamation and classmate Kip Skiles fourth in novice international extemporaneous speaking. On the varsity side, junior Ethan Claassen baggied seventh in impromptu and eighth in international extemporaneous. Senior team captain Eviella Sefu was fourth in international extemporaneous, junior Preston Miller sixth in broadcasting, and sophomore Bennett Brown eighth in United States Extemporaneous.
Smucker earned her first National Forensic League degree, Merit, and Skiles his second, Honor, for their efforts on the day.
The team competes next in debate at Chesterton and in speech at Logansport next Saturday.
