In the District Congress tournament at Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger High School, junior Rachel Hirschler placed second in the House to earn her way to the National Tournament in June. Senior Eviella Sefu nabbed third in the Senate and is first alternate, while fellow senior Margo Finnigan took sixth in the House and is second alternate to the national tournament.
In the Del Nelson Memorial Speech Tournament held alongside Congress, junior Preston Miller was fifth in a very competitive broadcasting field, and sophomore Thomas Schlabach fifth in his first attempt at United States Extemporaneous.
Schlabach earned his second NFL degree, Honor, for his work on the day.
