Bethany's Annual Christmas Gala

Friday, December 12
Sauder Concert Hall at Goshen College

On December 12, our community gathered for Bethany’s fifth annual all-school Christmas Gala, centered on the theme “There’s a New World Coming.” Rooted in Advent and shared with our school-wide worship theme for the year, the gala invited us to live in the sacred "now-not-yet" space of hope—where God’s new world is already breaking in, even as we wait for its fullness.

Throughout the fall, students and staff engaged this theme across disciplines, giving shape to active hope through art, poetry, music, and scripture. The middle school created a glowing stained-glass installation inspired by Isaiah 11, imagining a world of reconciliation and impossible peace. Students of all ages lifted prophetic voices—through words, images, and song—calling us to notice where God’s dream is already taking root. Kindergarteners reminded us of our shared responsibility as they sang, “God’s counting on me… God’s counting on you,” and the evening culminated with the entire school singing Bryan Moyer Suderman’s “There’s a New World Coming,” a reminder that this new world is both already here and still unfolding.

The Christmas Gala is a full-school, interdisciplinary celebration—creative, student-powered, faith-filled, and uniquely Bethany. It brings our whole community together in one shared moment of worship and wonder, simplifying the season for families while amplifying the voices and gifts of every student. A recording of the performance will be available soon; until then, we invite you to enjoy these glimpses of a night shaped by trust, imagination, and hope for the new world God is bringing among us.

Weren't able to watch this year's performances but here is the link to recording
