The Nerd

 

Bethany Christian Schools will perform The Nerd, a comic play by Larry Shue, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Nov. 20-22, 2015.

 

Set in 1979 in Terra Haute, Ind., The Nerd is a character-driven comedy suitable for all ages. Willum has often told his friends about Rick Steadman, who saved his life in Vietnam. He has told Rick that he will do anything to thank him, and is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly on the eve of his 34th birthday. But Rick turns out to be a bumbling, socially inept, tactless nerd, leading to many cringe-worthy and hilarious moments as Willum's friends Axel and Tansy help him develop a little gumption.

 

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. Tickets can be purchased online through noon Nov. 20; or purchase at door as tickets are still available. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
