Charlotte's Web

May 9-10

Bethany Christian Middle School will perform the stage version of E. B. White's children's classic, Charlotte's Web, at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10. Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students and may be purchased by calling the office during school hours (8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on school days).

Charlotte’s Web tells a story that many of us know and love. The memorable characters are all here: Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and, most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.” Determined to save Wilbur, Charlotte begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web where she writes, “Some pig.” It’s the beginning of a victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur offering the exact kind of friendship that Charlotte now needs. This is a beautiful, family-friendly play about teamwork and friendship.
